Love it! East Ocean is a real treat with every visit. The restaurant is very large and is optimized for maximum seating. No frills, just a lot of great food! We are always quickly seated, and the food starts coming around in a snap. And who doesn't like the choice of dumplings. Most of the dishes are very mainstream and taste wonderful, with sausage, shrimp and pork. Nothing to exotic there. Just great fillings wrapped in pasta. We also had Duck, Pork Belly, Bok choy, noodles and pork sticky buns (my-oh-my). Round after round of food is wheeled by your table. Comfort food just doesn't get any better than this. Quick seating, lightning fast service and best of all, really great food!

This is one of the first Dim Sum spots I have seen bring back the carts since covid happens. Excited to see those carts again which allows us to get food quicker and try new things by just seeing it. Food menu is your standard dim sum restaurant menu. The items were all great, except for the XLB. I felt that could have been more fresh and more soupy. My favorite dishes were the egg tarts, baked custard bun and the fried wings. I am usually not a fan of egg tarts and dessert dishes at dimsum, but these two were incredible. The egg tart has a unique flavor to it. Fried wings were amazing ! East Ocean has a full bar as well if you want to get a little tipsy. They also have a mimosa cart going around. They also had Ramune soda in the cart which could make a for an interesting mimosa mix.

We drove in from contra costa and getting thru the tunnel into alameda was an endeavor, like the worst spaghetti bowl roads thru and around the freeway. Once there parking was interesting. There's off street parking which was full but they had a small parking lot behind the store entrance next to Kelly Moore Paint. This place has the smallest sign making it was hard to locate its main entrance as a first timer in Alameda. Hint, it's across the street from Circle K. Waiting time was 25 mins on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant looks like a large banquet hall. Tables throughout with no partitions and serving carts roaming around like ants. There's 3 waiting areas. Outside waiting has tables, front entrance has a few chairs and the back entrance has chairs lining the walls of a large room. This place was so busy they used one of those deli waiting number tags, Once seated a cart immediately came up to the table offering its wares. Didn't even get our drink order before serving. Food looked ridiculously good so we dug in. It's really easy to over order as the carts come around fast and furious. The waiter finally came after at least 3 different cart stops to give water and take the kitchen order. The only thing we ordered was the shrimp fried rice since we didn't see that as being offered in the cart. It came as a very large serving plate filled high and was the best tasting that I ever had from a dim sum restaurant. Well worth the cost. Cart Service 5 stars Waiter Service was very slow. Food taste. 5 stars Too many food options to list as to the eye of the beholder. Well worth the wait.

Had lunch here for the first time today. Wow this restaurant is big but not overwhelming and quite inviting. The service was great. They were serving dim sum and coming around with cars constantly. When you order a lunch meal and turn down the carts they should get the hint you don't want dim sum. Irregardless, all of the staff were very friendly. I had the king pao prawns. Delish. My only negative is that there was so much onion it was too much. Literally I left half a plate of onion. It also could have been spicier as I would expect from a kung pao. But overall the taste was good and it was not greasy. Overall a great lunch. Will definitely be back.

We had an excellent meal. Our problem is that there were only two of us. We needed 4 more people so we could have tried more dishes! The 2 we had were great, but more than we could eat. We had the salt and pepper calamari which was crispy and perfectly seasoned. But. HUGE. Our next dish was the assorted mushrooms with seared scallops, and a bowl of white rice. It was delicious but, again, huge. WE NEEDED MORE PEOPLE! The restaurant was lovely, we had a great time. We will be back (with the whole family).

If ya know me, grabbing dim sum for my birthday is a tradition. For a birthday celebration myself, my Dad, and my companion came to East Ocean for lunch. It had been years since my Dad and I last dined inside so we were looking forward to revisiting. On the outside, the restaurant seems unassuming. Yet once you enter it is extremely big and spacious with tables for all party sizes. There is a constant flow of diners coming in and leaving. Coming on a Sunday afternoon, we had no wait. Once you're seated, the dim sum cart workers flock towards you. From there, it's quite easy to order as you receive your food instantaneously. On the other hand, the staff are constantly moving so in order to flag them down for other reasons it can take some time. Regardless, service is efficient and gets the job done. My Dad and I have our favorites for dim sum and my companion knows what to get, so it was easy to pick and choose. Sharing family style we ordered from the carts: Steamed Shrimp Har Gow Dumpling, Steamed Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai, Sweet Rice w/ Meat Wrapped in Lotus Leaf, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Pan Fried Shrimp & Chives Dumpling, and Shanghai Dumpling. We all agreed that each item was good, well-filled, and nicely portioned. My favorites were the Har Gow and Shrimp and Chives Dumpling since they had a lot of shrimp! I felt like the xiao long baos could use some work as they were deflated and had no soup. The lo mai gai rice was super wet and didn't hold up well but had a good amount of protein. We all agreed we wouldn't mind coming back again. I especially want to so I can try their other items not offered in the carts. For those in the East Bay, I recommend East Ocean Seafood Restaurant to get your dim sum and Chinese food fix. It's virtually on the corner of Webster Street with a private parking lot in the back.

We came for father's day special dinner. I'm gonna start off by complimenting the owner lady(if you've been coming at this restaurant your whole life, you'll come across this lady), who is very nice, cheerful and very accommodating to all her customers. You're cool in my book. The food, I mean look at the pictures, "eat with your eyes first". The flavor here doesn't miss, I love the meticulous approach to the taste of every single dish. The lobsters were fresh, salted to perfection with that slurry scallion sauce. The crabmeat fishmaw soup was out of this world, it also had very soft/silk tofu. The vanilla honey glazed prawns, wow! Oh and I won't forget about the cold bbq appetizer platter. My goodness, everything here was wayyyy too good. All the food came in hot, fresh, and f***in delicious! (except for the cold appetizers of course lol) We came on a busy afternoon transitioning to dinner hour. (Around 5:30-6pm). The place was packed with big tables for the father's day special dinners for all families. Music was playing, the service staff were smiling. Everything was just so perfect. I love this place. 5 stars! Always gonna come back! I've been coming here since I was young, so definitely gonna say its either this or Chef's Wok one block down. Both awesome places to eat authentic dimsum/lunch/dinner Chinese food.

I recently dined at East Ocean Seafood Restaurant with a party of six, and the experience was delightful from start to finish. The restaurant itself is spacious, impeccably clean, and vibrant lighting. From the moment we arrived, the servers were incredibly accommodating and friendly. They made sure our large group was comfortably seated and were attentive throughout the meal, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food we ordered was delicious, and the portions were impressively generous--perfect for family-style sharing. Check out all the dishes we ordered! You can even order dim sum! Overall, East Ocean Seafood Restaurant was a great experience with excellent service, vibrant ambiance, and delectable dishes. It's an ideal spot for both small gatherings and larger celebrations. Highly recommended!
